Who we are

Unorthodox Suppression is a family-owned and operated business whose roots are deeply set in Western and Central Pennsylvania.  Beginning as Irish immigrants to Johnstown Pa. in the late 19th century, the Griffin family survived the Great Flood of 1889 and relocated to Northeastern Ohio.  Eugene Griffin, a second-generation American, moved his family to Canton, Ohio, where he served the city’s police force as Sergeant of Detectives through the dark days of the Great Depression. Eugene’s love of firearms and spirit of public service are guiding principles of the Clark family business named in his memory.

From the clearing of the property to the framing and finishing of the facility, owner Joshua Clark and his father, Tim worked side by side for more than a year to bring the vision of Unorthodox Suppression into reality. We think great-grandfather Griffin would be pleased.
